Hold On 02:43
Whoa… whoa… whoa Out with my honey for a Sunday drive We’ll take the bridge, sakes alive I don’t know, dear, it’s so damn old Oh not to worry, it’s good as gold Remember that time when the circus crossed? Oh come on now, just two bears lost But Old Maid Pickle went into the bay Nobody liked her anyway She’s been standing since ‘31 Used to be the strongest gal under the sun Girders are bendin’ and the rivets are popped We’re on the deck and we can’t stop Hold on (Jiminy Cricket), hold on (Gallopin’ Gertie), hold on (Buckle up, baby) Hold on, baby, she won’t let us down Say there honey that’s a steep incline Now, don’t worry darlin’ we’ll be fine But the bridge is up and the mouth is wide I’ll gun it good to the other side Oh dear lord we’re in midair Well then flap your wings, I don’t care! There goes the bear, Miss Pickle too Oh, we’ll fly right over just me and you! She’s been standin’ since ‘31 Used to be the strongest gal under the sun Cables are strong and the paint is bright We made it over and we’re out of sign Hold on (Ahhha!), hold on (I got it, I got it, I got it), hold on (Watch out, honey!) Hold on, baby, she won’t let us Hold on (Grind my gears), hold on (Ahhh!), hold on (Double Dutch it) Hold on baby she won’t let us down No, no Hold on baby she won’t let us down

Figuring the distance in between Here and where you’re supposed to be The price of gas keeps going up I’ve got to get back home no matter what Little toy planes are flyin’ Little toy cars are drivin’ along I feel like I am finally Home in the house of song In the house of song Gathering the change lost in my car Tethering a thread from star to star An arrow points to the Northern Lights St. Christopher, keep me safe tonight Take me from one place to another Little toy planes are flyin’ Little toy cars are drivin’ along I feel like I am finally Home in the house of song In the house of song Home in the house of song In the house of song In the house of song In the house of song

Rivets 03:10
This is a story of a man I know from Crivitz He walked across the bridge and tried to count the rivets And when he lost count about the halfway mark He had to start over with a flashlight in the dark The rivets in the dark did a number on his head They made some creepy bumpy shadows and his batteries went dead The moon wasn’t shinin’ and he didn’t want to fail He shimmied up the girders and he counted them like brail 17,721, 17,722, 17,723 I think you get the gist of this It’s not trigonometry Some people say that Mr. Crivitz is a fool But can you learn about the water if you don’t jump in the pool You can go online to get the job done But if you Google everything you do, you miss out on the fun 17,721, 17,722, 17,723 I think you get the gist of this Would you get the spider off of me 17,721, 17,722, 17,723 I think you get the gist of this I think somebody’s texting me This is a story of a man I know from Crivitz

So Far 03:04
So far I have come to Retreat from beneath you That’s why I’ve learned Let it roll I was to down and out to Compare the notes within you And now I just say Let it roll I see the light, my dear You won’t get the best of me here I like when I have things To say just like the bird sings You take my tongue, I let it roll Kiss me and forsake me You think that you can break me My god carries the weights Let it roll I see the light, my dear And you won’t get the best of me here I see the light, my dear You won’t get the best of me here

Imposition 04:07
There was a bridge, there was a man He had a woman, they had a plan There was a bridge, there was a man He had a woman, they had a plan They had a friend, to give ‘em a ride They had a boat, on the other side They had a friend, to give ‘em a ride They had a boat, on the other side Walked into the bank, at quarter to five And in her pocket, was a 45 Walked into the bank, at quarter to five And in her pocket, was a 45 By five o’clock, they had the loot They had to drive real fast, and they had to shoot By five o’clock, they had the loot They had to drive real fast, and they had to shoot About the time they began their mission The bridge got stuck in the up position It was a major imposition You can get away, but not for long I guess that’s the moral, of this little song You can get away, but not for long And that’s the moral, of this little song

The End 02:49
The drawbridge is up, and I’m stuck right here Just what’s goin’ on ain’t exactly clear I guess I can’t go nowhere ‘til the bridge goes down So I’m outta my car and I’m lookin’ around There just ain’t a whole lot to see I can’t see where I’m goin’, only where I been I know that this ain’t no big catastrophe But I really can’t imagine the end Well, we moved in together, now I’m stuck right here The tv is on and I just got another beer She went to bed without invitin’ me So one more beer is about all I think this is gonna be What the hell happened to my lady love Don’t feel like her lover, better feel like a friend Once we were just so crazy much in love I really can’t imagine the end I really can’t imagine the end

Beautiful Me 03:20
I’ve been up and I’ve been down I gave it all in this old town I know you tried to tear me down But I’m still standing tall and proud I swallowed pride and other things I open wide and spread my wings So this is what my true love brings I dream too much and talk too loud Is it so hard to see All the beauty in me Have I ever let you drown You say I’m old and suck you dry My time has come I need to die Staying strong, I’m staying high I’m mad as hell and you know why There ain’t no way they’re takin’ me Deconstructin’ breakin’ me All your talk ain’t shakin’ me Is it so hard to see All the beauty in me Have I ever let you drown Is it so hard to see All the beauty in me Have I ever let you drown Is it so hard to see All the beauty in me Have I ever let you drown

I didn’t want you But I guess I need you I didn’t see you While I was waiting for you You made me an offer And I refused it Still I can’t stand to lose it You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone I had the answer Before the question Please forgive me If I fail to mention I have to have you Only when you’re allusive Easy come so I couldn’t use you You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone I had a plan (I don’t want you) Simple and true (but I need you) I had a plan (I don’t need you) Simple and true (but I want you) You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone Until it’s gone, until it’s gone You don’t know what you’ve got until it’s gone

Two Bridges 03:25
Goin’ one place off into another On the way somethin’s yet to be discovered Stones like roses, diamonds in the dew Don’t matter what you see, it’s what it means to you When the sun goes down and the night unravels We’re only as noble as the road we travel The path leads you down to the water One bridge mother, one bridge daughter One bridge old and one bridge new How do you know which one to choose When the sun goes down and the night unravels We’re only as noble as the road we travel And when the sun goes down and the night unravels We’re only as noble as the road we travel

about

What is it about Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin that inspires so many great songs? Some say it's something in the water, something that was planted here long ago, rising high above the surface, holding firm for those crossing over, opening up for those who float on by. What could be more inspirational or set a better example for the struggling artist in all of us than an old steel drawbridge?
